I promised myself...

I'd have the washing in and the bins out before dark... and *then* check e-mails and compose blogs and stuff and things...

however I have failed yet again, because I am SDG!!

I am getting very concerned about the shorter days starting... I mean I'll be grateful for the extra hour on Sunday morning I'm sure, but daylights savings messes with me for weeks afterwards. It's going to mean if I continue to work two jobs (yes, we're back to that) I will be getting home when it's dark. It means I will freeze in the mornings, and have to wear too many layers of clothing and start to look like an eskimo... I am not an eskimo and though I like eskimos I would not wish to look like I live in the snow where I live somewhere it's *supposed* to be hot.

Can we rewind and go back to the start of summer, and can you chuck in some more 38C days whilst your at it? Thanks for that.

Call me crazy, I love summer. What do you think one of the reasons was for avoiding England so far... yep, that's pretty much it...

As far as the migration to Queensland is concerned... I think it's a good idea.

Then if I still find nothing in a few years I'll go to Europe and freeze my arse off.

random thought: I came home to discover the turkish pye I bought not more than 48 hours ago had already started to go mouldy! And I'm really pissed off you know, because my dinner involved eating that Turkish Pye! So instead I had to use some crackers.... which isn't so bad either, but you can't really toast them...

right.... GET WASHING IN NOW JULIE YOU LAZY BLOG NERD!

hmm...

logged off for a little while to talk to taryn on the phone. i haven't talked to her in some time, but it's funny when you've been friends for more than 10 years it doesn't seem to matter if you don't chat for a bit.

it's funny that she sees so many people from school still and i don't. or i guess not really. I've kept in touch with her and a slight handful of other people. I had a lot of friends through youth groups and stuff like that, so my group of school friends was pretty select and few. At least the ones I'd consider close friends.

People come and go so frequently in lifetimes... well I don't know... possibly not. But I have this handful of friends I've known forever. Which is really cool you know, like you know so much about each other and each others families and stuff. And you do occasionally reminisce about the good, the bad and the ugly of the past. I like having those kinds of friends around.

Which reminds me, Greg where the hell are ya? Stop working so much bitch and come and see me!

Da noo poo's (or The New Pollutants as they are *actually* known) rock National Youth Week soon, with a little bit o' help from Hello Minnesota!

I feel like there is something else to be said... but I don't know what.
I still haven't watched the news in weeks. I'd have no idea what is going on in the world if it weren't for passing comments from others. That kinds of concerns me, but kind of not... sometimes I'd prefer to be naive about some of it, because it's quite stressful to hear about it...

I want to go to Melbourne for Easter, any takers?

holy snorkel batman...

my ever so witty post that I created got swallowed by the dial-up monster...
it basically said i have internet all the time now so look out!

It also said that I haven't listened to nearly enough Buck 65 recently, so it's gone on the stereo...

It also said (in a much better way than this) that we were very excited today when the lovely and curvy Adam Hills played Home for the Def's mish-mash album "mess with the best" on JJJ this morning! We love him and wish to have his babies, should he ever have any.

Dude! I loved my post! Damn you dial-up monster of evil for swallowing it. May you die horribly.

19/3/04

Congratulations must go out to the ever impressive TANYA for securing a new and exciting job. Bravo!

In celebration, we went to one of the new SUSHI TRAINS and chomped our way through some snacks. I also tried Green Tea Iceacream for the first time. It doesn't taste too bad at all.

We then proceeded to the place of many beers + conversed over the wonder of the 'century club', the films we love by PT Anderson, and the musical abilities of Nick Cave...

I really like talking to new people, it kind of rekindles my faith in humanity... or something like that.

I am concerned that I may be getting sick. I have been a little hot and cold all day. Lucky I'm taking it easy and staying in tonight. Will have to eat lots of vitamins for dinner!

It's quite a new thing to me that I have direction in my life. At least I know where I'm going to end up by New Years Eve. As to what I'll do when I get there, I'm not 100% sure. I think it's wise for me to work towards securing a job in the entertainment industry. Not as a singer, dancer or actor, but as a manager or event co-ordinator. Perhaps I will study something part time to get a bit more of a grasp on it. I'm not particularly good with the study of things I'm only mildly interested in, however if it's something I like I seem to revel in it a bit more.

The STUPIDEST PAGE I HAVE TO DO AT WORK OVER THE INTERCOM SYSTEM:

Ooh, found my post from 11/3...

I've decided that substance abuse really does make people horrible, chuck in a bit of attitude and you can throw them out the back seat "Jay + Silent Bob" style...

The last week has taught me this in such abound... some of you reading may well have seen me last Friday or Saturday in this hazy void, trying not to complain, but trying to piece together in my head what had just happened.

One of two things was going to happen last Friday and the thing I was kind of hoping would occur, did. The feeling wasn't there. At all. Besides any of the other crap... There would have been nothing worse than having to deal with separation.

I guess I'm fortunate in that sense, I can move right on from it...

I know, once again this is a scatty post giving bits of informaiton, but I don't want to explain all of it, and I don't want to mention names or specific situations.

I do however wish to thank Benjamin... and Annie... and my therapist... for being lovely people.

I absolutely hate the weather at the moment. Why couldn't it stay hot? Boo :(

OLD JIMEOIN: "I love 'boo', imagine if you could use it when you're grown up. Like you go to the bank manager, and the bank manager says I'm sorry, you just can't afford this house... and you go BOOOOOOOOOOOOO. He says 'no, no you can afford a smaller house'... 'Don't want a house now'..."

Recent situations / developments / lack of thoughts on someone elses part mean that I will soon be living alone again. I don't mind, I actually prefer it. I mean, money wise it can be a real bitch, but over all it's pretty sweet.

ANother thing I've noticed recently is that I think I've become a lot tougher on some things. For example, things that I might have put up with a year ago, I won't put up with now.

The more time I spend alone, the more truly independant I become. my next relationship with whomever it may be may well be a balls-up because of this, but you can't really rely on such things... NO RELY! I mean WORRY, cos otherwise they'll never be another relationship in my life. I've always been independant, just never this much.

"There comes a time in every mans life when he must make a giant woman out of wood and launch her into the sea!" Gatesy in Tripod tells the tale of Tosswinkle the Pirate (not very well)
ROCKS TRIPOD!
Honest, Tripod are kicken', but what's with the shithouse "Skithouse"? Honestly boys, I luvs ya, but "wha'?"... maybe it's just Peter Helliers fault... I don't know.

A chachachachachaaaaaaaaaaaa.... Losing mind.

Wednesday, March 17, 2004

ooh, nearly on time...

bloglicious from 16/3/04... in my head but not on the page...

For those of you that know the gritty details of the weird chain of events in the last week, I will be repeating myself... I could have really let everything get to me, but an air of change is about.

I'm more unimpressed than upset, unimpressed at what alcohol and/or drugs and/or mild pieces of success can do to you.

I wasn't jealous, I wasn't sad, I did want to talk about it with a few friends, but I felt nothing.

Nothing at all, kind of let down I suppose and not respected, but when you realise you really do live a whole different and better life to someone else, it's not so bad.

I have love, and no I haven't been hiding a secret boyfriend in my hair... I have love around me in the form of a bunch of great friends.

I hope everyone takes note of the opening song in Moulin Rouge sung by David Bowie:
"The Greatest thing
You'll ever learn
is just to love
and be loved in return..."

Those four lines mean so much to me. Hopelessly romantic. Lost in imaginary visions of things to come. And occasionally reminding others that it's okay... I have love where this person currently (possibly) has none.

In this way I am thankful and not bitter.

That nothing feeling was more confusing than anything. I wonder what has happened to some of the natural stimulants in my body.

I haven't been riding much because as a temp I kind of have to dress up (and not smell), so I've been catching public transport. I don't mind catching it whatsoever, it just means where I was getting an hour of lower cardio at
least every second day, I'm now getting a little bit of walking in only. When I get home Friday, one of my friends and I are going to go on an hour walk. Not much I know, but better than nothing at all.

I think I might go on the liver cleansing diet, because, let's face it, it probably needs a good clean. Perhaps that will assist in correcting my metabolism.

I keep changing my daily 'lying in the park' position to get a different perspective. Today I note a different statue of which I must take a closer look at shortly. It's a lady holding a bouquet of flowers.

I should probably filter some of my money into a gym membership, personal trainer or naturopath... but I also think I just need to push myself, set aside certain evenings (or god forbid mornings) that I do specific things. Mix it up a little. Move and shake.

I find it hard to read still, and I realised I haven't really noted the news in the last month or so. I don't know if it's 100% healthy to be naive. I did get a newspaper last week and the story about a car park wanting to charge cyclists that worked in the building was appalling. Hopefully Bicycle SA step up to this one. They did a good thing with Cycle East during Feb allowing cyclists discounts at particular shops... promoting cycling and the shops willing to support the campaign. Good idea.

Back to the future... blog... erm, that didn't quite work...

what i would have blogged on 15/3/2004 if i'd had a net computer...

I've just discovered my Uncle's mother has passed away. I didn't know her
very well, but he will be upset (obviously) as I understand they were pretty
close.

She was 93 though, so what a damn good innings. She'd been quite sick for
several months now, so I'm sure it's somewhat a relief as well.

I've been trying to rekindle my eye for beauty in everyday things.
Sometimes in this busy world it's hard to stop and look. One thing of
particular beauty are the buildings in this city. Sure, some of them suck
because they were built in the 70's or 80's, but there are quite a few
Elizabethan (I Guess) ones that I love. I've been trying to picture how the
new (and very unneccesary) apartments behind the Exeter are going to look.
Hopefully not too much like the city West Uni Building!

Why can't they build something with modern facilities but that looks
classic? Get rid of all this tacky bull*hit. Reminds me of Lycra. I don't
know why.

Now that the West End is really picking up, I wonder when someone will buy /
re-open the Red Room? If I had the money I'd be interested in it.

There's this tiny statue in Light Square I never noticed before. It has a
telescope or some sort of surveying equipment on top of it. How
interesting.

Watched "Intolerable Cruelty" on DVD last night. Damn fine. But the Coen
Brothers rarely let me down. I don't think I've ever disliked one of their
films.

NOw that the Fringe is over I'm a bit sad. Though it went like such a blue
and I think "what did i actually do in the last 4 weeks?". There was only
one show that I came out of feeling kind of mediocre about. I won't say
which one, but everything was pretty great. Meeting Adam Hills was
fantastic, and the Tripod lads too. Having my 'friend' back from London was
just a laughable experience. I never want to see him again.

I'm vowing to go to one big show a month if I can. Stop spending money on
alcohol Julie and see more shows!!

10/3/04 - The Splendaro Vox Pop Part 2

If you had a tv show of your own...

a) what type of show would it be?
b) what channel would you want it to be on?
c) what time slot?
d) your cast members?
e) the name of the show?

Leave your answers in the comments section...

The other week when Adam and Tripod were on my show, I did post the whole set list and write my Circus Monoxide review, but it all disappeared, cos I wasn't concentrating and pressed something wrong! Darn!

Last week I saw Beats Per Minute, Craig Egans Summer of Rock tour, Adam Hills: Go you Big Red Fire Engine 2 Judgement Day, and Tripod's Lady Robots.

The best part of Tripod's show (for me anyways) was without doubt the GUITAR KINGS! If you saw the show you'll know what I'm on about. Also, when Gatesy nerded up and went 'into the computer'. Go C64 references!! Ohh Gatesy, so cute.

I'm starting to save for my next big life transition, moving to Queensland. I think it will be a good thing for me, loads of sunshine and loads of fresh fruit. Perhaps even a career change. After all, I WOULD make a superb Marilyn Monroe at Movie World!

Also saving up to go on a proper holiday in September with some girlfriends to a happy warm climate too.

Now that I think of it, I haven't been on a proper holiday in a while. The last one would have probably been the extra short trip to Melbourne 2 years ago! Not good enough I say! Less stress and less work I say! There's got to be a way I can do what I did last year and take three months off over summer every year for ever!

Note to self: Hurry up and get that Federico Aubele CD would ya?! jeez!

GO YOU BIG RED FIRE ENGINE!!

I wanted to publicly thank someone for a chat I had with them on e-mail earlier in the week, but I won't embarrass them. I think they know who they are. Doctor?! I will however, apologise, for any public affections of love in the way of enormous hugs I may give them in the near future...

1/3/04
So I suppose I could write about all the dastardly horrid weird love-hate stuff I seem to have been posting lately.... instead (insert your *gasp* here)
Yesterday during my show I had some Fringey guests on again, Adam Hills + Tripod.
Adam lifted me up (not physically, that wouldn't work, I'm too heavy) because his outlook and personality knock everything for six. I'd remembered seeing him do some stand-up last year at Rhino and being suitably impressed, but probably said no more than 'boo' to him on that particular day.

I had been telling him how Richard Easton had said to me how laid back and easy the interview I did with him was.
At the end of the show, Adam pretty much said the same thing: "You're right, this is the best/easiest interview I've ever done". (props to me)

All the guys loved being able to poke through the shelves of music.... Gatesy stating "this is too much" whilst staring at the rows and rows of vinyl, completely dumbfounded and unable to decide....

It might be cool to get paid for doing radio, but I get to play with 66,000 albums every week! And I get control over my show. And I get to have guests in like these guys who rock my world and talk to them quite candidly, instead of being so straight-edged about it.

There's something extra special about yesterday, it was a lovely day. Lucky I have recorded it for posterity.

*aside* As fringe wears on, I get more and more impatient!

I got my hair done on Saturday at Limbo (Unley Road, go there, they rock!) again. My hair had grown about 4 inches since mid-November which is heaps!

The cuts even better again and I already know how I want it done next time.

I think I'm some kind of 1930's dancer or something out of an old period drama! My hair is so curly, but I think it looks fekkin' rad (Not to brag... hehehe). All I need's a tassel dress and some feathers in my hair... yeh dress-ups!!

I want to talk more about Adam Hills, but I don't know what to say. You know when things become more like a mesh of a memory? Yeh. When I listen to the interview again I'll write more. Go see his new show "Go you Big Red Fire Engine 2: Judgement Day" @ The Fringe. And also be aware if you know
anyone with a hearing impairment that he has an Auslan Interpreter @ his show on Sundays. Mega uber Props for that!

I've also realised I'm a bit of a klutz when it comes to stubbing toes or
walking into things...

Now that I'm going to Beats per Minute tomorrow, and Adam Hills, then Tripod Thursday, and 12 Angry Men on Friday.... you'll have to excuse me if I hibernate tonight and Wednesday!!

So much to see, so little time! It's kind of unfortunate I chose to leave going back to temp work til now. Had I done it a month ago, I could have taken a couple weeks off during fringe, and rode thru the cash I had. Boo to me! :(

The Cat Empire are playing at the Festival Venue "Universal Playground" on the 8th March. Even if you are sick of hearing their 'hello hello' track, they played one of the best shows I saw last year.

Dooooooooooooooooo yyyyyyyyyyyyoooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu rrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeee?

what I would habe posted Friday morning if I could...

Last night around midnight or so I heard commotion in the street outside my house. It just sounded like kids mucking around so I thought maybe it was the teen enxt door and some mates, so I peered out my window, and was about to open it to tell them to keep it down.

I couldn't see them properly through the trees but realised it wasn't next door (besides, he's pretty nice and polite for an angsty skater kid).

There were two (i think) males, and one female. The girl was screaming at them to stop. Then I realised they were playing a discusting game of chicken with her. Holding her down in a seated position til it was too dangerous for them to be in the street.

I saw her get away. She rang crying down the road, half tried to hail a car down.

I saw the discusting pig that was holding her down come back past our house a short time later, without her.

I just hope she got away from him.

I felt absolutely helpless watching from the darkness and safety of my bedroom. I felt there was nothing I could do. It was a violent situation, and I'm not that physically strong. I think I may have even endangered her more by trying to step in and help...

*sigh*
the human race sucks.
this was one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen.

Where's YOUR head at?

I tell you what, it's a pain in my arse not being able to post a blog mid-working day. I can type bloody fast and capture everything I need to say.

FRINGE VIEWINGS thus FAR:
I Spied: Confessions of an ex-ASIO spy (David Callan)
Dave candidly talks of his time working behing the big steel doors of ASIO (Australian Securities Information Office)... and even threw in a song @ the end for us. Excellent insight and fantastically funny one man show!
Get in quick, the buzz on this one is now HUGE!

God, Inc! (Paul Wagner)
Paul takes us through elements of a true story based on corporate America, turns Jesus into a character out of Bill and Ted's, and uses much satire when giving grief to US TV cultute.
He's put a lot of effort in, includes visuals and a hoard of characters.
There is not doubt in my mind that this guy is a great character comic, though I think parts of his material would have US audiences in stitches, where as we kind of go "Huh?". Still, worth a look for some of the giggle factor.

Valeri + Gleb
I don't think I've ever been to a mime show before but it was great! Be warned, you may become part of the "mime band". The few kids that were in the audience were absolutely amazed by some of the faces Valeri pulled at them.
A great family one actually, but there's no shame in getting a bundh of your adult friends together to see an unusual art form.

Don't know about the rest of your but I'm already exhausted!

This week I'm seeing Circus Monoxide, and, erm, something else, something else SOMETHING ELSE *chanting*.
Don't actually know yet.
I'm also going to the great grand fantabulous opening of 12 Angry Men next week (which is sold out I hear) to watch my friend Phil Nichol tread the boards. I'll also see him in one of the Best of the Fest Late Shows doing stand-up.

*be still my beating heart*

I love the Fringe.

I was just being so emotional, as well as a little bit of PMS blues chucked in and crap-hell tired Sunday night that I had a cry. Ah well, these things happen when emotions run high and nothing is ever certain...

god I'm lame.

*hopeless romantic signing off*

"whips, crops, canes, whatever...

come on, baby lets go..."

some revelations about myself of the last week...
(warning: it's going to be really random and scatty, so I do apologise in advance)

hels has told me that the moon has moved into piscies (i hope that's right... helen?), hence, I will be dreaming an awful for the next month... great.
i generally have dreams that people will pass through, but they won't ever be prominent parts of it. Sometimes I don't dream for weeks on end...
This week I have had dreams that at least one person has been particularly prominent.... which kind of wierds me out because I never have dreams with this person in them... very rarely anyway.
I have been warned that the dreams at this particular time can be deceiving, so the trick is to work out which ones are being 'truthful' (i suppose you could put it like that) and which ones are just trying to trick you.
This doesn't make much sense when I've had about 5 dreams in a row involving the same person.
I wonder if this person is really okay at the moment. Or if there's something I'm totally missing in my friendship with them. If we're both very similar, if we're both in pain, if we're both really quite fucked up.

I also have come to some sort of conclusion... that I may need some therapy. There are things I think I have let go of totally that relate to my past long-term relationship, however I think parts of it did more psychological damage to me than I realise. (gee, thanks motherfucker, can i say motherfucker?)

Remind me periodically I need an older man in my life.

It occured to me that when I fell down the stairs I could have *really* injured myself, and had I knocked myself unconscious, I wouldn't have been found for a little while (at least 24 hours probably)... it really could have been a bad thing.
Then what Helen has mentioned is rather full-on.
A friend of mine lost a relative last night. (love you, take care)
and all the comings and goings of everyone. Pippa's gone now too.
My friend Nate wants me to show him around Australia next year. I think that's a wonderful idea.
Any takers?

I honest to god am a romantic at heart, I will cry every time I watch "Breakfast at Tiffanys" and I do mean EVERY time. I can't help it. If only love were that sweet. And I cry at tragedies... moulin rouge for examples. I know some people hated that films, but it's like shakespeare all over again... rip out my heart and put it on a stick for everyone to see will you?

I want someone to simply love me. There is nothing more to it than that. I seemingly have put my foot in it way too many times... I tend to pass people, for lack of a better cliche, like ships in the night and wonder what could have been... I take everything to my heart and store it there for further mental torture later. I don't mean to, it just happens.

I often wonder what could have been, and so, I must be a dreamer (and I'm not the only one)...

"naked girl falling down the stairs"

well not quite, but yes, i fell down the fekkin' stairs at home and it hurt like buggery...
i should photograph the bruise on my ass! now I know you won't want to see my arse, but its a shiny bruise, and well worth a photograph.

I very nearly broke a couple toes, and am gonna get the doctor to check it out tomorrow, just to be sure.

I'm very lucky that I didn't smack my head on the steps and become unconscious or something.

My stairs are make of concrete you see.

something I wrote down earlier today that was a little something like this: "you have been in my dreams of late, and somehow my dreams are confusing you with things from my past, and that scares me"

love is a many splintered thing.

hey phil, if you're reading...

bring some cotton clothing to adelaide. we've just hit a heatwave baby!

woohoo! heatwave. Although I'll get dehydrated and feel pretty yuk sometimes, the sun is shining, I can go swimming, I can wear less clothing and I couldn't be happier.

Apart from the fact I realised I need some more cargo pants cos they are comfy and cool.

Valentines day, schmalentines day!! I'm not likely to receive anything and I don't really mind. I'll get to see some of my friends today at the radio station for the Top 100+1 and have a bit of a laff with everyone. I had my first beer at 11:15ish AM if that gives you an indication (will have to stop now til my shift is over though).

Oh, cept I got a sms from my friend Prof Booty wishing everyone all the bestius goodness there is with a whole lotta beyonces chucked in.
Don't ask me what that means but it was cute! thanx prof!

buck65 made the chart at number 70!! woohoo! i can tell you that, but I can't tell you more!

the whole list will be up on the three d website later.

last night TANK and I went to Brighton beach when it got dark and to visit Molly for her birthday afterwards.

I made more caramelised onion muffins.

goddamn it's hot! I think I'll have to visit Melindas pool later!

Keep cool.

i just realised, I'm still contemplating!!

22/12/00

the sky seems awful sad this day
my mind wanders
as the year is coming to a close

somehow i knew not what to expect
my mind is still
as it falls into unconsciousness

how will i work out what to do?
my mind scurries
as i contemplate the rest of my life

i think of the worlds troubles
my mind panics
as i understand there is only so much i can do

i know how much love surrounds me
and my mind is calm

Reality TV...

... it's taking over my brain! or at least my tv screen!

I'm an enormous fan of Queer Eye, but some others are already confusing...

The Resort which started last night was interesting. They really picked a bad bunch of personalities didn't they? Fighting after 48 hours? Lame.

Like, get over it! Put some gloves on and get to work! Get someone to delegate tasks, or all work on one area til it's done and move on to the next. Surely it's not *that* hard.

I don't know if I can be arsed watching the resort now.

Erm, the hothouse... I think they've already learnt a valuable lesson: don't listen to gossip!

I also think perhaps they should be showing a little more about the building of the actual house. I mean, I know it's early days and they might do it more later when they're on interiors and stuff.... at least if they did that it would be more helpful to people who are thinking of renovating and might need some ideas or help.

To quote Adam Sandler and relate it back to *both* the above shows: "Suntan lotion is good for me... you protect me, hee hee hee"

IDIOTS! PUT MORE SUNSCREEN ON! You'll just get dehydrated and not be able to work as well! duh!

Now I'm wondering what kind of dork I'd look like if I got accepted into BB!!

or perhaps, what kind of dork they'd make me look like if I got accepted onto BB!

Then there's American Idol 3... don't get me started.

ow my pancreas!

actually ow my fingers and hand, damn RSI.

Did 3 hours training this morning for the new job... which is good because I get paid for it.

I keep coming across things that tell me my time at my part-time job was limited anyway...

makes me think I've been allowing myself to be walked upon for so long... I could have bothered to make a real go of it, but I feel all the fighting and apparent procedure making and all that has always been an uphill battle, and whomever replaces me will find the same thing...

anyway, it's probably better that I'm not here on a more permanent basis, it used to drive me insane before.

what else? I've decided I'm a channel 10 fanatic. I barely switch. and I never know what's on the other channels cos I don't want to pay for a teevee book. (Besides you can usually find one in the local rag, but not every week... hmm)

SBS has some great films sometimes and ABC some great drama, but I only remember to watch them if I stick sticky-notes on the TV or write it in my diary.

Hey I read something that Johnny Depp is doing 'The Libertine'. I saw a french (i think it was french) version of this on SBS quite recently, and I think the story is similar to the film 'quills'.

ramble, ramble, ramble. blah blah blah.
so much to do but for some reason, I can't be arsed.... I wonder why that could be.

Add sarcasm and stir.

"the chances you take, are the branches you break" : buck65

so many things happened today... one being a new 'love letter' from buck65... you can get them too if you sign up at his website.

they're always fun and pretty because they're like a tour diary... and he's lucky that he gets to go to such lovely places...

I hope I will be able to excrete that much genius on my trip up the coast...

Also today I have been offered a temp assignment that goes for a month. It's in the city and is 8-5:30pm. Which means I will have cash for the Fringe... woohoo! and will also mean my addiction to sugar and/or caffeine will become more severe, because I'll be going back to full time work after about 4 1/2 months of not working full time.

Interesting times ahead.

I think I'm going to start eating fruit and vegetables only. Perhaps a few lentils thrown in there too...

My skin is being annoying again... I think it's the weather.

I made tuna mornay yesterday, it was tasty.

Apart from that I felt like a slob, because even though I went for about an hour walk in the sweaty heat, I sat on my butt for pretty much the rest of the day switching between funny daytime teevee and a game of the Sims, with some episodes of Futurama thrown in for some giggles. God that show was good, why did they ever axe it.

Random Link chosen by ME! www.moviepoopshoot.com

I am very happy about the job. I can't wait to be on my way to Queensland-y goodness!! Now you know this means y'all can visit me when you feel like a holiday. ;)

Don't forget to book your Fringe tickets to 12 Angry Men right NOW!

stuff and things,
xJ

i had all this witty stuff to write...

yesterday i had thoughts swirling around and around in my head, because the only person I got to speak to was the lady who took my dole form... and now I can't remember any of the topics I was going to post about. They were news-worthy, I promise you that.

hmm. an update i suppose.

The very sexy and no longer contained (dont ask me what that means, i'm pulling lines from alladin) TANK is back from her adventures studying in Holland, and visiting Columbia. I am very jealous but it is nice to have her back. And she is happy to be back. She might move into my house, I said she could as long as she is nice to my fish.

This is a time of coming and going for a lot of people. It's just strange...

**'Cornholio' went to Sydney to study to be a negotiator. mmm, negotiation.
**'Len is going to Ballarat to study loads of Artsy things.
**Pip* is going to a place far far away where she can learn to surf and learn to play the blues baby.
**Tank came back from 6 months study exchange in Holland, with a trip to Columbia thrown in for good measure.
**My cousin Erin moved to Cairns to house-sit for 12 months (what a good house-sitting catch)
**I am negotiating (mmm, negotiation) also going up to Brisneyland at the end of the year, where the weather is *HOT* and the pineapples a-plenty.
**Fi Mc-Shack-Shack is coming to visit us! woohoo! and she'll be here in time for fringe and all!!

I just got a call from one of the agencies I went to about some work regarding a job they'd spoken to me about 2 weeks ago or so. It's with an IT company doing their accounts *yawn* but at the moment I'm pretty willing to do whatever, because I want to get out of debt and haul my ass to a warmer climate. This IS unless something monumental happens.

insert 'aside' here: I've had this thing in the back of my head for ages that keeps saying 'something monumental is going to happen'. I still don't know what that thing is. It really bugs me, but I'll just leave it simmering away until I go 'oh, so THIS is the monumental thing'....

Anyway, for those who are 'in the know' I rang lady re: the job I've been waiting to hear about yesterday... she said she was asked to put recruiting on hold for a short period...

more soon.

"she's just so sweet so fine, so polite too..."

Next Saturday 14th February is Three D Radio's Top 100+1. Starts at 8am and goes through to around 8pm. I'll be broadcasting between about 12:45-3pm entertaining the local guests. We try and get as many of the local guys in as possible. Usually at least one person from every act can make it which is cool.

The Top 100+1 is compiled from our Top 20+1 which is broadcast every Saturday throughout the year. They are the most played albums by Three D announcers, it isn't a public vote of such, it's really put together by the lot of us. More than 50% of the chart this year is local. Last year 8 out of the top 10 were local artists or local compilations.

Little Birdy's "Relapse" is still the best love song...

perhaps not the best *ever* but still has exact replication on what I have been feeling of late.

I am about to chuck something away, very soon. It will be hard, but I will have to just do it.
Alternatively i have to try and change the way I think, and I don't think I can do that, so the former will have to take hold.

hmm.

so lethargic again.

darned heat...

well actually, i LOVE the heat... you can read Hels post on how it's the new black on dramaqueen...

I, however, disagree with Hels and agree with Hello Minnesota that in fact HANDCLAPS (uh-huh) are the new black...

i just got a *very* interesting text message.... i predicted a few years on this particular topic.... perhaps I wasn't so far off after all.

anyway, my point about the heat was to remind me to put in something about my skin.
Now I am very fortunate with my skin you know... I have my parents to thank I suppose. They never had any trouble with acne and neither did I... but recently I couldn't afford to buy some body scrub... so I started showering using soap. Big mistake. Well at least with the type of soap I bought... I mean it smells totally amazing, but it's drying my skin to buggery. Yuk!

Should have bought some 'Dove' soap products, they've never let me down before!

bah humbug!

I just listened to Plaids' "Spokes" album again. It's very nice indeed. Go and get it.

Oh, another thing... on my list of things to do this year I put 'read more about politics'... and I know it's an election year and all, and I pray we don't have to stare at Johnny Howard for much longer when he's stuffing up sentences and saying stupid crap... but I think I changed my mind. I'd rather be naive about it I think. There are plenty of other things I'd like to read instead of it...

Here's my list of stuff i know is sitting on my shelf...
Naked Empire: Terry Goodkind (next book in Sword of Truth series)
Stupid White Men: Michael Moore
Audrey Hepburn bio that i've gotten 1/4 way thru and left for ages

stuff and things,
xJ aka BetaGirl

an email i'm writing to a mate at the mo'...

and thought I'd share... it's how my head is working at the moment...

"i've been thinking, and it's been sitting in the back of my mind for some time... that if/when I do my road trip up the East Coast later in the year... perhaps I'll stop in BrisneyLand for a time.

See I had opportunity to go and work there with a lady that published childrens books that I met one year at the Aust Book Fair, but my dickhead ex-bf whined and bitched and 'how could i consider doing such a thing?'... how? well because it would have made me happy.

Now she's not publishing these books anymore because the Publishing Market is a real bitch... and it's hard to get your stuff distributed even though these books were amazing... however she could still probably help me get work. Besides the Temp Agency I work for is pretty much international... I mean I actually am pretty sick of working in Admin, but what else am I going to do? I can't get paid for radio, it just wouldn't work for me."

Anyhoo, that's not the entire e-mail but it's bits of it... so yeh, I'm thinking:

1) get myself out of debt for gods sake!
2) after my birthday, take 8 - 12 weeks to drive up to BrisneyLand via Melb, Syd
3) move there (at least for a while) and see how I like it
4) if I hate it I can always go somewhere else
5) if i miss everyone the airfares are cheap a lot of the time
6) i could join 4ZZZ to replace my community radio fetish

i have been talking to Maine about his Music Event. Sounds like the bands are a pain the preverbial.

All the bands I've ever worked on my mini-events in Adelaide have been lovely, even to the point that they have completely donated their time to help a club pay their APRA fees, when our original intention was to just split the cash between bands that played on each day.

I pity you dear, only because they should be greatful you are putting in the work for them, and get off their high-horses about not being super-mega-rock-stars... besides if they constantly behave like that they aren't going to get anywhere... don't they understand that? wierdos!!

Shit, i laughed when I heard a certain BDO band member was having a bitch because he had to pay for his drugs at a particular after party... well whoop-dee-doo! has it not occured to him that he probably has a hella amount more cash than anyone else in this city, and if he wants to have a drug habit, it's going to cost him?! Sheesh! Rock stars! Who'd have 'em? Bring me a comedian any day!

Anyhoo.... one of these days I'll get around to telling you about the Peaches gig in it's entirety... but there will be a severe 'adult content' warning on that post!

god! some people!

hmm, that's a whole 'nother story (the subject heading i mean!!)
Ever wonder why some people don't have a sarcasm detector in their brain?
I do. I often wonder.

I often wonder if I should keep my mouth shut all together... would make for interesting radio I suppose. Because frankly, if I don't keep my mouth shut, I get myself into trouble... constantly.
But only with one person generally. Why? Oh Why?

My 'therapist' is very wise indeed though...
and very sexy... *waving*

Do I continue from Friday... hmm... oh yes... I suppose I do...

Saturday I went to see Cat for her birfday. Helen and I were feeling somewhat worse for wear but for different reasons. Bumped into my 'therapist' having lunch, and later returned home to vegetate on the couch. Woke myself up with a Sugar Free Red Bull... and actually it worked a treat. I haven't had one of those in a while...

Axel was kind enough to remind me of the New Pollutants/Red Monika show at Rhino.... so we trudged to Exeter before hand for some beers, then on to the fun and frivolity of a TNP/RM show.

Tanya + Kylie were scared and went home *i kid*... however it probably was the first time in ages they had seen me in my natural habitat, so it doesn't surprise me!

Anyway, everyone was there, it was hella fun. i got very drunk.
A few of my friends were feeling sad, i hope they feel better now.

I would like to insert a few words about Team Plastique here...
1) lovely
2) fun
3) precious
4) splendaro *clap, clap*
5) "i can't believe it's not the gold coast!"
6) they're all sexy
7) they like tea
8) i realised i wear a lot of black being after around them
9) crude
10) laff-riot!

They make me want to move to Brisbane more! I need some colour in my life.

So perhaps I will...
more on that later...

Being undecisive, broke and random SUCKS dicks!

how to go to the Big Day Out for less than 90cents...

keep an open mind people....

so, find out what volunteer positions are available for these kinds of events! If you haven't volunteered for a music festival before, think twice before throwing yourself in the deep end.

Considering I've run my own mini festivals in the past ("Reverberation" at Inzone a few years back over Australia Day, as well as three d's 21st birthday) and been a part of MBA/Fuse the last two years... I know that it's not easy work. If you think you're going to not be tired and will have the ability to function the following day... think again!

My good friend Michelle had the opportunity to do a bit of paid work co-ordinating volunteers and the 'crowd care' area of the big day out... so she threw some information my way. I managed to get a morning shift so could enjoy some of the bands from about 5pm. I arrived at 9:20am, lined up to get my workers pass for nearly an hour, started crowd care when the gates opened about 10:30am. Our jobs basically to be the eyes and ears on the ground, give information, report any wierd stuff/dangers etc.

We were provided with lunch, and water and softdrinks when we needed them throughout the day... and were given a BDO t-shirt and CD as thanks, as well as entry to the rest of the event.

Yeh, so I walked around for about 4 1/2 hours I guess, spending two hours in the middle at the Crowd Care tent providing stuff like ear plugs, water and chupa chups.

I spent 90 cents on a hot cinnamon donut...!!

I saw Peaches, Aphex Twin/Luke Vibert (disappointing), Flaming Lips (fun and balloon filled), Basement Jaxx (loud and full of people), and of course some of Metallica, some of the Strokes... some of the Dandy Warhols, some of Muse, The Darkness (good) and some of most things really.

There was not too much trouble that I saw...

What kind of shits me though is how messy the place gets so quickly... I mean you think about during an event such as the Royal Show where there are large volumes of people at the showgrounds... probably about half the amount of a Big Day Out on a daily basis I guess throughout the Royal Show... but why the *FuCK* do people think it's okay to throw their drink containers, iceblock wrappers, and BDO paraphanalia everywhere? It kind of discusted me (and it did at the Falls as well) that people couldn't walk 5 steps and put something in the bin. There is nothing more fowl than trying to find a place to sit on some grass, and having to move food wrappers or empty cans or whatever to sit there, and then wondering if there is still some of the food and/or drink where you are about to sit anyway...

FridayFive.Org
You have just won one million dollars:
1. Who do you call first?

Nic! "so about that trip to amsterdam...??"

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
a bottle of white sambuca...

3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
tickets to europe for my closest 15-20 mates...

4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
The Otherway Centre where my friend Terri works...

5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
more than likely in rental properties...

REWIND...
Thursday I picked up the kids from Team Plastique from the airport, they were supporting Peaches that night... I showed them the Central Markets where we bought a shite-load of tea from the TBar.

Then we trouped into three d for their interview on Eco Noise, and back to Benjamin's. I left them to their devices whilst going to do paperwork and such for my temp jobs, and went to the BDO meeting as well.

When I returned to the city at 9pm to Enigma... I only managed to catch the last 3 songs of the TP set... which I was very angry about, but I really enjoyed it. They did strange things with fake money and hundreds and thousands... if they are in your city, costume it up and get on down and have a rawkus time!!

Bit by Bats were good as always... Benjamin called them the Adelaide Chapter of the Strokes... whilst I agree and disagree... I still think they're good. But I think the Strokes are average now that their most recent album sounds pretty much like the last one... I can't believe Buck65 (go back through his Love Letters section on the site) put it on his top 10 albums of last year... but yeh, that's opinion, so who am I to judge such a handsome man?

Peaches was INCREDIBLE! If you didn't see her, you missed out on...

back to reality...

...the reality is, there's no point worrying about it at all... I mean, hell, it will sort itself out eventually...

i'm becoming less and less concerned about opening 'dialogues'. After all, we're all adults here, and if someone can't talk to you when you ask them a question, then give them a couple years and try again!

I neglected to mention that at Saturdays party I felt rather old. Don't ask me why, because there were a few *much* older people around than me... but I don't know. I'm gaining a whole bunch of friends that are in the 19-22 bracket... now that I'm 25 1/4 I am starting to feel old.

I think I just can't believe it's nearly February! Where did January go?

I'm still in love with Buck65...

Check out some Aussie gear like 'Ubin' and 'The Bird'... Ben Walsh is coming to the Fringe to do some music shows in the Garden of Unearthly Delights. He's the percussionist with the Bird. Definately check him out.

i am spiralling...

out of control...

seriously!

not even aimee mann is settling me down at the moment, and that's saying something.

if you love someone, set them free? what a fucking joke!
did someone really think it was *THAT* easy? if they did they need a new brain.

That's Just What You Are: Aimee Mann
In our endeavor we are never seeing eye to eye
No guts to sever so forever may we wave goodbye
And you're always telling me that it's my turn to move
When I wonder what could make the needle jump the groove

I won't fall for the oldest trick in the book
So don't sit there and think you're off of the hook
By saying there is no use changing 'cause

That's just what you are
That's just what you are

Acting steady always ready to defend your fears
What's the matter with the truth, did I offend your ears
By suggesting that a change might be a thing to try
Like it would kill you just to try and be a nicer guy

It's not like you would lose some critical piece
If somehow you moved point "A" to point "B"
Maintaining there is no point changing 'cause

That's just what you are
That's just what you are

Now I could talk to you 'til I'm blue in the face
But we still would arrive at the very same place
With you running around and me out of the race

So maybe you're right nobody can take
Something older than time and hope you could make
It better, that would be a mistake

So take it just so far
'Cause that's just what you are
That's just what you are
That's just what you are

Acting steady always ready to defend your fears
What's the matter with the truth, did I offend your ears
You're like a sleepwalking man, it's a danger to wake you
Even when it is apparent where your actions will take you

That's just what you are
And that's just what you are
That's just what you are
That's just what you are
ENDE

Just when I get ready to put my foot down, someone starts to care again!!
Just when I'm ready to work hard, settle myself down for a bit but flock off travelling at the end of the year...

I don't know what I want out of life anymore, not that I think I ever have...
I hold on to so many things, take things very personally... I'm sure it's a bad quality to have. I mean, I suppose it says that you care but shit, sometimes I wish I just forgot what was said, and stopped dreading what is yet to be said.

Ray: Aimee Mann
Ray, as of today
I can't say things will ever be the same
And that could be a shame

'Cause though I think I know
Another lonely exile when I see one
And you appear to be one
Still...

I'm playing it down 'cause I could really be found
If you've got it to spare
I'm playing it cool but it's terribly cruel
'Cause I ought to be there

And Ray, what can I say
You don't know me and it's just wishful thinking
To keep myself from sinking

And hence, no evidence
To support any theory I have handy
That you could understand me
And so...

I'm playing it down 'cause I could really be found
If you've got it to spare
I'm playing it cool but it's terribly cruel
'Cause I ought to be there

('Cause you're as bad off as me)

And Ray, can we repay
Ourselves for days that we've
lost through indecision
With one of recognition

If so, then here I go
'Cause some things you know
And some you just believe in
And hope it comes out even

I'm playing it down 'cause I could really be found
If you've got it to spare
I'm playing it cool but it's terribly cruel

'Cause I ought to be there
I ought to be there
I ought to be there
ENDE

I didn't sleep last night... for more reasons than the physical ones... I play and replay conversations over in my head, play ones that haven't even occured yet... and keep my head spinning so I can't sleep.

...except I forgot I had chamomile tea downstairs, should have drunk some.

I don't know how to explain any of this without going too much into my consciousness... my private life... and I know I know I know I've projected so much of it already on here, but I don't want to project some of these things. Because I honestly think I'm going slowly insane. And if I can't calm my head down soon I'm really going to do some damage to myself.

"maybe everything is all for nothing, still you'd better keep it to yourself
cos god knows it's not safe with anybody else" It's not safe: Aimee Mann

lack of fundage...

...means lack of me setting the puter up at home and having internet...

so yes, i come to radio early today to blog, to read the 25 odd emails that have bulked up in my mailbox... including one that tells me I've won large amounts of money in a sweepstakes... and whilst it *would* be handy to have all that money, i think that I'll just leave it sitting there, ignore what could have been, and keep going for job interviews. Sounds a bit random and shoddy to me!

And speaking of which, yesterday (Saturday) I had another phone call about a job in the city. Which would be uber-perfect for a number of reasons... I could ride everyday, I could bus if it rains, I can still do my food shopping at the central markets... and other things I haven't thought about til right now like the fact that CITRUS BLU would be across the road! F*CK YEH! Well watch me spend all my money on chili coffee!

ooh, now I *really* want the job!! how fickle am i?!

Perhaps I should go in reverse here...
Friday after having more interviews and spending 3 or so hours doing mundane tasks at the Fringe Office that needed doing... I trundled home, got myself a Pizza (norty) and tried to decide what I was going to do... you know a 'do i keep up appearances' question... I spoke to Michelle and she happened to be going to the location I was thinking of going... so Morgan, Michelle, Benjamin and I put on our glad rags, and headed to the Prince Albert for some acoustic-y goodness. Which meant I also got to see Heidi + Warwick, Spoz, Stuckey, Heath, Mike, Alicia, yada yada yada...

Following this it was on to the Grace Emily to go on a boy hunt. How fun! We were hunting a particular boy, but we found him, so that was good.

Discussing reincarnation, having my head blown off by a friend for trying to make a point (christ!! don't ask!), talking about the new film Lost in Translation (which I haven't seen yet but am told that I will like), and then running off for a therapy session.

And to my therapist, you rock my unexciting, non-descript world darling.

Headed into the Exeter later on but all the bands were rapped up, so all I could do was say hi to Denni and Annie and head home.

Total alcohol consumption was something like 3 beers, a shot of white sambuca, and a shot of Absinth. Absinth be *nasty*.

Saturday during the day one of my little cousins had her christening, so went to that and back to her parents after for heaps of food. Tasty indeed, got to catch up with my other cousins and stuff... yeh always good.

Later last night went down to Benjamin's for his house-mates going away party (call it an excuse for a party, but it was a fare-thee-well)... I intended to stay for short amounts of time then go celebrate Luke's birthday with him in town, but I joined myself at the hip to some people I knew and ended up having a not bad time. Hung out with Fin and some of his people that I hadn't met before, Mark, Zoe, Liz... and after dropping some of them home and returning, saw Annie and Sara... Matty B was also there with his missus, Tys, blah blah blah. People I like anyway.

It was just one of those things yet again where I felt out of place, because though I know some of these people quite well, there were large amounts of people that obviously had no idea who I was (though some of them recognised me by my radio voice which is kind of cool) and I really *really* dispise girls who give you funny looks because they don't know you, or you're talking to some guy they want to or something. Get OVER IT!

I mean shit! I've got no false vision of how I look. I don't look bad, but I'm not a flawless beauty either, in no way, shape or form. Do people find people that they don't know threatening? And for what reason?

It just really once again prooves to me that I'm a fringe-dweller, and I really do know some awesome people, but bringing them all together is always a hard thing, even though I think once everyone got to know everyone, it would be one big happy family... sort of thing.

Hell I don't know what I'm saying anymore, I really am quite tired.

Radio set-list coming your way soon.

"oola walla hicky...

come on ya wanna lay me... pass the punch munchacho?" (at least it's something wierd like that... that's how I've always quoted it, cos even if it's not correct, it's fucking funny!)

most quotable movie *ever* i think. Wayne's World... GO you big red fire engine!!

"If he were an icecream flavour, he'd be praline, and dick."

well I met some of my fellow bloggers last night which was very cool indeed...
you can read some of them here, here oh and here... but that LAST nutter I've known for years, so does that count?

oh wow, they're playing "if you leave" on
the radio... by Orchestral Manouvers in the Dark... awww....
"if you leave, dont leave now, please dont take your heart away..."
"i touch you once, i touch you twice, i wont let go at any price, i need you now like i needed you then, you always said, we'll still be friends..."
"if you leave, dont look back, i will run the other way..."

wicked.

"hey mr donut-head-man, who's trying to kill you? i dont know but they better not!"

erm, last night at Jive I saw Hello Minnesota, *10# and the Ramonettes rock out Holly Brats birthday...

it's official, I'm broke! However optimistic that my job interviews both went well and that I'll have some kind of temp work very soon...

yes, yes i will.
another interview tomorrow.
bring me work, bring it now. well perhaps not next thursday or friday because i have BDO things to do... bands to chauffer 'round, volunteering to do, things like that... much more fun than working.

am i the queen, or am I the QUEEN?

yesterday I spent the AM sending off resumes to nice temp agencies asking for work...

one rang me late yesterday and the other this morning...

so i have TWO interviews (count them *two*) with the possiblity of several jobs, mainly accounts receivable/debt collection ones, but if they are temp assignments I don't care. I need Fringe money damn it, and I need it now!

I also need money to eat and pay bills... yes that *would* help.

rock and rule,

feelin' hot hot hot...

...i am listening to Team Plastique from Brisneyland as Mr Speed decided they were 3D interview-worthy and asked me to sort it... so I'm sorting it.... and they are 3D worthy indeed. A little bit crunchy in parts, but nothing like a chocolate milkshake... and there is lots of nudity and tight clothing on their artwork so bring it on I say.

They will be here to play with Peaches on the 29th Jan and also the following day on the Lilypad stage at the BDO... so check them out, yar?

I hate looking for work again, I mean the interviews don't phase me, but the whole process of it shits me... sending in applications, waiting... blah blah.

Can someone just put a job in my lap please?
Come on, I work hard, I've got bulk-ace admin skills and I need work immediately.

Shortly I'll give a list of what stuff I want to see at the Fringe Fest...

oh, also...

having a personal circus for your celebrating non-smoking picnic is VERY cool...
it's actually motivated me to pick up the juggling balls again... actually mine are square... anyhoo...

i've decided i have to get some full time work again if I'm to organise my trip up the East Coast later in the year... AND if I'm to have a good Fringe Festival too!!

I think the most interesting people I've ever met have always been ones I've passed for small amounts of time, and then maybe vaguely kept in touch with... for example...

Phil: was here last fringe and was just the most awesome, caring and sometimes paranoid person i'd ever met (ref: phil being concerned that all 25 people I'd brought to his final show had had a good evening... me going 'dont be silly' and him saying 'oh, now you're mad at me'... hehe) but you know we've kept in touch... lately it's been more and more sporadic but I guess that happens eventually... I haven't seen him for 2 years, but hopefully he's due back in my home town soon so I can have a good catch up and cook him dinner.

karen + muffin: these rockin rollin girls from brassy made my day as well... when i interviewed them we all got the giggles, at their show i jumped around like i had a day to live... then went to chat to them after the gig, probably had them look at me strangely whilst stretching and doing yoga poses in their dressing room, gave them cuddles and gathered signatures for other people that didn't have the nerve (go trav!) and sent them on their way... i hope they are well. they were such cool chicks, no matter WHAT ANYONE on JJJ has to say about them. you fucking assholes JJJ!

buck65: was here in December... I interviewed him on 3d and went along to his show which was a big inspiration... i had left my writing books at home so much in the 6 months prior, now I take them everywhere... he had some interesting things to say... thought Platypus' didn't exist... things like that... he made my day. he also liked one of my favourite words codswallop. i know that's trivial, but i thought it was funny.

alan: i met alan on the bus the other day.... we had like a speed-conversation... if that makes sense... we just talked a mile a minute and i learnt so much about him in the 20 or so minutes i talked to him... it was really wierd, but i also thought that it's such a cool thing being able to just converse with someone you don't know... even if at high-speed... he also made my day.

more soon...

there is such death
and the grains of sand on the beach
represent all that we are..."

whether or not...

i should publicly post this i don't really know, but sod it!

yesterday after all my slackness, worrying and other descriptive words, i hauled my ass to the doctors... 8:30 in the morning mind you, but at least it made me get out of bed...

several things are bothering me, one is the fact that I've been getting headaches on and off for about a week, however I think that is possibly my back being out of place or something... I'm patiently waiting for my masseuse to return to town to give me a good rub down.... mmmm massage...

secondly, i'm so lethargic all the time some days it's excrutiatingly hard to get out of bed... then when I do get out of bed, I feel like half my brains missing or something... in a total haze all day, and I don't like it.

thirdly, there has been a lump giving me grief in my chest... it was there a while ago and used to flare up at particular hormonal times of the month... however it's been *way* more noticable recently... so the Doc sent me off to get an UltraSound just to be sure, because she said it didn't feel right... luckily I actually could get in to the Radiologist (or whatever they are) yesterday as well, so killed two birds with one stone, and got the results immediately. Concensus is: no problem. Thank god.

With all the "sickness"... some days are better than others of course... yesterday I felt better after getting the news that all was well with the lump that I actually managed to do productive things like cleaning and food shopping.

I also had a blood test to see if I have a deficiancy in something, perhaps diabetes, or some in balance somewhere... first blood test ever! and it didn't hurt one bit!!

I am still looking for more and/or different work at the moment... I really am getting frustrated with my job, but also trying to keep really up to date with the projects I have, and trying to motivate my bosses communication skills as well.

I start as a volunteer with the Fringe Festival tomorrow. The launch of the Official Program is tomorrow, and stuff. WOOHOO!

Get yourself a program, and buy tickets to the OPENING show of PHIL NICHOL's... I'm gonna sell it out baby!! Actually I'll probably organise to buy tickets as a group or something... but yeh, let me know if you're interested.

Watched a Doco on Woody Allen last night on the ABC. not bad.

This is the end of the ramblin'....

*grumble*

my back is sore...
my neck is sore...
my head is sore...
my brain feels like absolute mush...
i would rather sleep than go to work... that's how I feel...

so I have finally made that doctors appointment I promised to make such a long time ago... now I am scared out of my mind as to what they might find. It's not normal for me to feel like this, definately not.

I'm jeapordising everything by feeling like this though... work, volunteer stuff, my apparent motivation to get buff... and to be more creative, to be able to write more often... for which I have been spilling on to paper all over the house pretty well... I haven't cleaned properly in the longest time. There's paper everywhere, perhaps it's a sign... what sort of sign, I do not know...

at least I got paid today...

my heart left in a purple room somewhere...

So I watched Pi as well as Jay + Silent Bob Strike Back over the weekend... and the newest film by one of my fave directors PT Anderson 'Punch-Drunk Love'...
I can't explain them all now due to lack of brain power, but my god... watch Punch Drunk Love, its amazing...

okay, okay, let's get serious...

hmm... things I have noticed, somewhere, somehow in my last 48 hours of possibly having a migrane headache... which is terribly odd because I don't get migranes...

1) the show "Teachers" on ABC is uber-cool...

2) the Steve Irwin thing, whilst kind of odd, and perhaps un-called for and irresponsible or whatever... was something that was AGAIN blown out of preportion on commercial teevee... refer the footage he gave to A Current Affair... now I hate current affairs shows because ultimately they destroy lives... but i wanted to watch this in my vague headach-ey state... and he did take precautions... anyway. whatever. it's steve irwin. he is a nutter. but he's passionate and an entertainer too. so, hmm, stuff and things. I'd be curious to see what the people that were in the Australia Zoo audience thought of it. They were there after all!

3) i'm almost starting to think, though I love Adelaide and am an ambassador of how cool it is... that I might want to get out for a bit...

got sent a new CD by 'Gotye' called Boardface... it's not bad at all. Due for release in February, but I'll give it a burl on my show, let me know what you think... I like it.

i think more of you should answer the VOX POP... sharon and adam are going to be mad with you if you don't!! you'll have to scroll back about a week...

sex, drugs and rock and roll...

ok, ok, so about being an emotional wreck... i think it's because I watch too much daytime teevee now. I can't get by without a good dose of Dawsons Creek (where Jen's Grandma has just found out she has breast cancer)...
as well as the occasional episode of Oprah, or tele movies like Gideon...

maybe it's the impending return of an old friend...

maybe it's wondering if another friend really is okay... and not having the opportunity to talk to them outside a work environment is kind of killing me... softly... with his song...

love is a many splintered thing...

recently, i've seen/heard a few things about people wanting to get married... Pippa and I agree that either (or perhaps both) of us would marry Robbie Williams. Because he's hot. And he's less of a prude than I thought...

stuff and things...
xJ

Sunday, January 04, 2004

i stayed home?

what's wrong with me?
apart from the fact I just realised in the last 24 hours that I probably am an emotional wreck for varying reasons...
I had invitations to go places, however not having the car as well as not being arsed, not wanting to spend too much money... even though I went and spent up charge-plenty in the city as well... norty... well I needed new pillows and a throw rug didn't I? and a new kettle... I'm sick of burning myself!!

"shovel that coal let's roll..."

Baby Got Going: Liz Phair. What a cranking song...

we are playing some love song dedications again because we can't get enough... there are some RUDE ones coming out... none of this class that Mr Speed brought to the show by bringing 60's love-songs in... no...

DJ Tongue the Anchovy picked "Come in my mouth" by Earl Wilson. All class man, all class!

New Years Eve... well y'know New Years Eve is New Years Eve isn't it. I had a pretty fun night, but I wouldn't say it's the best night of the year for me... I don't know if I could actually label the best night of the year to you though...
Halloween was a laugh-riot... wearing wigs and costumes out is always a treat...

Anyhoo, went to Ernie and Eva's around 6pm and helped with cooking and taste testing the punch... drinking my sparkling red with Eva... well frankly I couldn't have been in the same room with her and NOT drunk any, bit of tradition now really...
on to the train at 10:50ish into the city to meet Pippa and her friend to go up to Rhino. Made it there with 10 minutes before 'countdown'...
kids smoking on the train, kids f*cking on the train, kids vomiting on the train... what WERE they thinking.... little shits.

the Rhino "Mansion" included the regular room upstairs, as well as the second bar downstairs with DJ's playing...
plus a third room that Charlie and Mick had organised for their mates... Nic-o bartended in the third room and poured me a nasty shot of I think Tequila and Kahlua... danger, will robinson, danger...
did a few laps of rundle... picked up chocolate, visited Tr!p and Speed, and returned to Rhino Mirth... afterwards was lucky enough to hitch a ride down to Craig + Frehd's for recovery and another countdown... hehe. got home at 6:45am... not bad for someone who doesn't take chemicals.

drank way too much alcohol, but it must have been spaced out enough for me to not be too drunk...

"breathe you deep as you seep into my life..."

"all the pain has gone away
and all the words i'd love to say
fall so easily to the page
and slip on the glaze...

all the rules are thrown away
and all the games we love to play
kissed the lips of which we're made
in my masquerade..."

love sucks.
loving someone who doesn't know you love them sucks.
loving someone who lives far away sucks.
loving someone who lives so close sucks.
